He did suffer an injury to his spinal cord a few years ago that paralyzed him. The cord was bent but not broken and he has recovered wonderfully from it. Although it was a long road and his gait is a bit 'off' some times, he has never let it slow him down. He is so kind to our girls and the puppies. We are all truly blessed to have him in our lives. He has had 3 litters for us and all the puppies are amazing family pets, sporting dogs and a few service dogs. We are not able to show him in confirmation due to his gait from the injury, although he does have a few other titles. We are so excited to announce That we have confirmed a pregnancy with OMG Handsome Man Ohanzee! Ohanzee was a boy that I have had my eye on for a while, and after careful consideration, and discussions with Meagan (Owner Of OMG Poodles and Ohanzee) decided he would be the best choice for Rose's final litter. I can't believe I'm even saying that. Rose has given us so many beautiful Puppies, I will be very sad at this last one, BUT really excited to possibly keep one of these girls. Ohanzee is not Titled in Conformation due to an accident that took him away from the show ring, but he has his CGC, Trick Novice, and Fetch Novice titles, and many Champion and Grand Champions out of his Puppies. He also has some service workers out of his puppies. Ohanzee is an active, happy guy with a desire to play and be involved with people. He loves the ball, and will retrieve all day. Particularly DOGS! I love them, everything about them. My parents started out their marriage early years showing Dobermans. Over the years we have had many different breeds, and had many years of learning what training methods work best with what dogs. As an adult it just seemed natural for me to start an obedience training business. I did that (training) for many years, and even included classes with the rec district of Montrose county. After my kids started school, we decided I needed to home school my kids, and I ended my dog training business. My kids are grown now, and so I am back to my love of dogs. I specifically loved the Standard Poodle's Intelligence, and wanted to try a breeding program that focused on personality and health traits, as well as beauty. I believed I could achieve a better Standard poodle based on those qualities, AND have beauty too. And so, High Mesa Standards was born. I know you are going to love our puppies as much as we do. Montrose Has earned her UKC GRANDCHAMPION TITLE!!!! She has also started her TRICK Title, and has earned the first in a series, called TRICK NOVICE. She Finished her first level of Obedience which is her PN(pre novice) title. In the same show she was awarded a Champion ribbon, which earned her the title of Total Dog for winning two awards in the same show. We are so proud of her because she was not real sure about the show life. But she overcame her fear of the ring, and succeeded! The show weekend in July 2022, she took three Champion ribbons ,a reserve champion ribbon, Three Best Of Breed ribbons, and a 3rd place in gun dog group, This past weekend in Kiowa, she was in the champion class with other beautiful Champions, and won a class 3! This earned her her Grand Champion Title. She has been tested for hips(L-0,30 R-0.29), elbows(good), heart(good), dentition(full) Thyroid health(normal),and just updated her eyes, (normal),and is registered with BetterBred for her diversity panel.
